Hunt Country Pets' Page

If you have visited the farm and winery over the past few years, we hope you met Gus (at left).  Gus is a Bernese Mountain Dog (or just "Berner"), a wonderful old Swiss breed descended from the Newfoundland and Great Pyrenees.  Gus is our Official Greeter and he loves his job unconditionally.  He is almost eight years old, and a sweeter dog there just can't be.

Molly, the 7-month-old Great Dane of Jonathan Hunt and his girlfriend Caroline, is 90 pounds of happy rollicking puppy, with absolutely no idea how big she really is.  Mouse, their 9-pound Rat Terrier, is more focused on the possibility of a rodent escaping his watch than on his giant and still growing, younger “sister” (see above right).
Misty (below right) loves her rides with Joyce.  Gus enjoys trotting alongside the "girls".  Natalie (at left) has turned 16, and she's still a dedicated "mouser"!

Many of our readers may remember our wonderful Great Dane Pug (below right), adopted by Jonathan from the dog warden when she was five.  Pug became the "grande dame" of the farm, living to the ripe old age of twelve.  Several years ago, our daughter Suzanne competed with Auriel (shown jumping below).  Some of you may even recall Klaus, shown below welcoming winter visitors with Gus in 2002.

We have a cast of guest stars at the winery, too.  Marketing manager Jim Alsina's Standard Poodle puppy Freddy comes to the winery occasionally to rough-house with Molly until they both collapse in exhaustion.
Our pets are so much a part of the tradition of our family and of the farm.  It's hard to express the joy they bring us.
